The start of memorial day has begun. For us the pool opens in our neighborhood. However we are going camping with another set of fanilies near Gettysburg PA. It should be fun and I will post more as the days go on.

So I’m surfing the web and come across this news story. Now there are bad news stories all around, but this just screams bad and makes me wonder why some people are allowed to even live. The short version is that a 4 year old will most likely be blind now because his dad apparently ate his eyes.  The dad is being charged with mayhem, torture and child cruelty and is being held unless he could come up with a $1 million bond.

Sadly, since this story impacts a child, it makes me rather sad that someone who couldn’t have done anything becomes tortured to that extent.  Very sad.
